Zealand The North is a progressive instrumental rock band from Austin, Texas, and they have recently released their new EP Modern Prophecy.

The EP begins with the track ‘Lions’, which starts with heavy guitar riffs and a strong drum beat. It’s very catchy and has a great heavy rock feel. The bass line is heavy and the guitar work is absolutely amazing; they have some scorching guitar screeches throughout. The track ‘Parallels’ starts with guitar riffs and drums. It has a very captivating drum beat going on, and the bass line is really good. The guitarists work extremely well together and it’s very addictive.

The track ‘Everything Seems Uphill’ starts with low guitar riffs and a very strong bass line. The drums work well with the bass riffs, then the guitar riffs start to go to a high pitch and back down to a low pitch; it’s very well put together. The track ‘Daughter Egypt’ has a very different sound to the last track – it has a much softer sound, but the bass line is still nice and strong. The guitar riffs are gentle and so is the drum beat, it picks up a bit and gets a bit heavier at the 1:00 mark, then gets gentle again.

The track ‘The Morality Of Others’ has catchy guitar riffs at the start playing along with a great drum beat. The bass line is good, and it has some awesome guitar riffs that screech throughout the song and are epic.

The EP has some really awesome work on it, and the band work really well together. I think this band could be massive; it’s definitely worth listening to and see for yourself. The EP is available now on the band’s Facebook page and on Spotify.
