Xavier Bernazard – Hero Song (2022)

Described by blogs as a band to “…serenade us with incredible emotion and passion…” (Buzz Music) and a “…lovable artist…” (Rising Artists Blog), Xavier Bernazard has an intense intimacy speaking through his engaging music. While Bernazard began writing and performing music as a teenager, this band was formed after Bernazard met Nathan McCord (drums and producer). Add the skills of Alex Hodge (bass), Fox DeVaughn (guitar) and Josh Karas (keys), and you have a force to be reckoned with. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Hero Song’.

The third and final track from Xavier Bernazard’s upcoming album Balloons For My Funeral, ‘Hero Song’ is hot on the heels of the well-received ‘Restart’. Influenced by Paramore, Panic At The Disco and My Chemical Romance, Xavier Bernazard’s previous material has shown strong leanings toward these bands. ‘Restart’ had a strong reminiscence of My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade obscurity; however, ‘Hero Song’ seems to be a combination of My Chemical Romance’s Danger Days era with lashings of Panic At The Disco. Then again, there is a unique eclecticism to Xavier Bernazard’s sound so could I really compare them to the iconic established artists?

Exceptional and intriguing, ‘Hero Song’ has a powerful rock-inspired arrangement as powerful guitars meld with pounding drums slathered by Bernzard’s heartfelt vocal execution. Xavier Bernazard explains that ‘Hero Song’ “…is a love letter to my family acknowledging their heroic figure in my life…” – and this is clearly evident in the harmonic tenderness of his dulcet tones.
