Under Delusion – Music Is My Drug (2024)
With her piercing blue eyes and seductive smile, a person can already lose their head just glancing at Under Delusion’s vocalist; however, it is her distinctive alto joined by bold guitars and crashing drums that engulfs you entirely. Grabbing the essence of the human spirit from the pain of personal tragedy to the blissful heights of empowering hope, Under Delusion connects with audiences in an intimate, intricate and powerful way. Already fans of their work, the veteran musicians won our hearts a long time ago… come with us as we jump into ‘Music Is My Drug’ and join the ride.
Following the well-received singles ‘Burning Under Water’ and ‘Dive’, the Russia-based trio stomp into 2024 with ‘Music Is My Drug’. Another taster to their upcoming sophomore album, Under Delusion shows another side to their persona with a somewhat lighter rock tone. Shifting from melodic metal and hard rock, ‘Music Is My Drug’ captures the essence of classic rock but with an edgy bite of contemporary synth-rock.
Produced by Max Scotch, the single is a concoction of crashing drums, scorching guitars, shimmering synths and, of course, the signature low-timbre female vocals. Tossing you from pillar to post in its rock-induced music, you find yourself lost in a wave of sound skipping from kaleidoscopic joy to dark vulnerability. Aptly titled, the music lingers along the line of raw addiction, but there is a more profound depth found in the theme of the track. Under Delusion explain:
“Why do we write music? Because we can’t live without it. It cures us and, at the same time, can bring immense pain. ‘Music Is My Drug’ is an honest song about the passion for music and the deep connection between musicians and their fans… an inspiring and energetic synth-rock anthem that invites listeners into the world of Under Delusion.”
In addition to the single, Under Delusion released an official lyric video for ‘Music Is My Drug’. You can view the video below or via their YouTube channel.
