Track of the Day: The New Icons – Everybody Knows
Following a brief period of self-imposed exile from the music scene, Anthony Hart got back on the wagon with his project The New Icons. Described by Scene & Heard as “a feast of psychedelic rock and roll to fatten your ears”, the Liverpool-based artist is definitely one of a kind. Embracing the sounds of Iconoclast and Lost Faces, The New Icons is building a psychedelic rock sound with some indie influences. The latest addition to his repertoire is ‘Everybody Knows’.
While ‘Everybody Knows’ was released as a debut single in early August 2020, it is actually part of The New Icons’ 10-track album Electric Ghost Graffiti. All songs on Electric Ghost Graffiti were composed by Hart with the intention being performed live. Calming, charming and easy to listen to, ‘Everybody Knows’ is a soothing single for any playlist. Based on the concept of two strangers meeting in a local pub, its tranquil effect makes me assume it might be a good meeting.
