The Other Side Reviewstrack of the day

Track of the Day: Rich Chambers – Don’t Go Jo (2025)

Let me tell you a quick tale. One day, Rich Chambers stood in front of the mirror – y’know, those deep life assessments for better or worse. Looking into that metaphorical mirror, he said, “Rich, music has and always will be your passion. Why then are you not going all in?” The reflection had no answer; that was the moment when his love for music took control. A middle-aged man entering the music industry with absolute gusto and no expectations, Chambers created magical melodies that quickly turned heads far beyond his Canadian borders.

Let me tell you another quick tale. This very same Rich Chambers woke one night and found himself restless, facing those 3 am night thoughts. So, instead of forcing himself to sleep (or at least trying to), he picked up a guitar, sang along with the strumming, and within a couple of hours, his new single, ‘Don’t Go Jo’, was born.

Following his well-received songs ‘All Day and All of the Night’ and ‘Cherry Cherry’, ‘Don’t Go Jo’ is a true representation of Chambers’ eclectic and enigmatic originality. Self-recorded and produced, the single is a combination of indie-rock, pop-rock, classic rock, and even a tinge of old-school Beatles jangle-pop. Powerful guitars intwine with pounding drums and a slip of keyboards peeping from the back, ‘Don’t Go Jo’ has the full-bodied weightiness of a rock song; however, wistful innocence and joviality make it seem quite light (I mean melodically, not floating off on a cloud or anything).

The melody is fun, infectious and an all-around blast twinkling with kaleidoscopic awesomeness, and Chambers’s rich vocals only enhance the attitude. Slightly off-kilter with an amusing obscurity, his voice captures comfortable warmth and heart. On a mundane Friday, you need something to make the time move on – or at least get you through the day. I’m so pleased I happened across ‘Don’t Go Jo’ today because it’s made this dull afternoon much brighter. Thank you Rich Chambers for your awesomeness!

In addition to the single, Rich Chambers released an official music video for ‘Don’t Go Jo’. You can view the video below or on his YouTube channel.
