Track of the Day: Ninni – For The Last Time
With a true love of music, musician Ninni began as a guitarist in the local indie scene; however, one day his love turned to songwriting and the rest, as they say, is history. Hailing from Italy (Naples to be exact), Ninni pours the bold, passionate and evocative nature of Neapolitan culture into his intoxicating melodies. Featured on Sinusoidal Music, FV Music Blog, YMX, earone, Music For All, Roadie Music, The Sound Check, and various playlists, Ninni is reaching far beyond his Italian borders with his music. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘For The Last Time’.
Following his track ‘Just The Touch Of My Hands’, ‘For The Last Time’ has a reminiscence of old-school Paolo Nutini in its tone and style; however, there is a unique indie-folk slant that is entirely unique to Ninni. An acoustic single, ‘For The Last Time’ blends acoustic guitar, the piano and Ninni’s tender vocals in a charming almost two-minute sonic package. Interestingly enough, while the soundscape is simplistic and minimal, there is a kaleidoscopic air to the song showing that simple tracks can be louder than the heaviest metal song.
Calm and flowing with a sophisticated wistfulness, ‘For The Last Time’ has an elegance in its intoxicating tune. Yet, while the single can have you grinning with a warm tingle over your body, the theme is more profound than a simple song. Ninni explains that ‘For The Last Time’ “is a little song I wrote for our loved ones who are not with us anymore…” Along with laidback gentleness, this new single draws out the anxiety, desperation and fear of dealing with a painful situation. The thing is, it has a sense of hopefulness and optimism in the tender tones making you smile but also feel a little melancholic.
“Sometimes the fear of losing someone literally drives us mad because we are completely helpless in front of the fate that comes our way. However, everything in life must be faced, even the deepest pain, which makes us human and which if explored, understood and lived, can help you bring to light the value of this experience. Discovering a resilient capacity that can make us strong.” – Ninni on ‘For The Last Time’
