Track of the Day: Jordan Jones – Flawless
With over a decade in the music industry, Jordan Jones has built a reputation for energetic and engaging music. He has toured Canada with previous projects, but it is now that we are introduced to his solo sound. Influenced by a melting pot of musical genres, Jones has a great diversity in his work ranging from pop and soul to RnB and rock. He has already been featured on The Other Side Reviews twice, but we aren’t the only ones singing his praises. Pop Passion, Music Arena GH, Less Than 1000 Followers and Sinusoidal Music are also among his fans. The latest addition to his repertoire is the single ‘Flawless’.
Following his sophomore track ‘Stumble’, Jordan Jones moves from synth-laden electropop to a smoother, softer pop melody in ‘Flawless’. While there is a smoother vibe to ‘Flawless’, Jones retains his contemporary pop beats in a synth-driven arrangement. Lying somewhere between Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran, the melodic arrangement has an upbeat, finger-clicking sound belying a soothing wistfulness and whimsy.
While his previous single was a brutally honest dive into romance and viewing the significance of communication, ‘Flawless’ is a little, um, easier in its theme. Jones explains that the song is “inspired by what my ideal Sunday looks like; spending it in bed with my person listening to music all day on repeat…just being lost in the moment forgetting about responsibilities.” It is this endearing message that makes Jones’ music intimate and heartfelt.
Although he has only three singles to his solo project, Jordan Jones is quickly making his mark as an interesting and innovative artist. He connects with audiences in his music making you feel comfortable and calm whenever you hear his dulcet tones.
