Track of the Day: Jameson Tabor – Touch (2022)

If you are a fan of Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Lady Gaga or Ariana Grande, the chances are you will love Jameson Tabor. Described as “…the next Justin Timberlake” by Triangle Park Studios, Tabor has a flair and unforgettable presence that really makes him the next Timberlake. Blending elements of pop, dance, blue step and house, he calls his sound “nu-disco” and has the crowds swaying in those groovy beats. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Touch’.

Penned with co-writers Molly Chapman and Jenna Tabor (Jameson Tabor’s wife), ‘Touch’ is an upbeat song with an energetic dance-pop sound. A powerful storyteller, Tabor uses his narratives to connect with audiences through his music and ‘Touch’ is no different. Based on a tale of true love, he explains that “I fell in love at first sight and after weeks of dreaming about the girl, I finally connected with her at a party where we got dared to kiss…she is the muse behind the music and has inspired my evolution in style and artistry to what it is today.”– Jameson Tabor on ‘Touch’

Tabor’s first release in 2022, ‘Touch’ is a melodic blend of pop, dance and soul with tinges of funk lying in the harmonic arrangement. Synth-driven, the single has a bouncy, jovial feeling as Tabor lays his vocals atop bright beats. Interestingly enough, while the track can easily be played at any party, club or on a road trip, there is a vulnerability emerging in Tabor’s rich voice – particularly halfway through when he hits those old-school pop high notes.

Toe-tapping from start to end, ‘Touch’ can send you into a kaleidoscopic swirl of music with a massive grin on your face. I have to agree with Triangle Park Studios that Tabor could be “the next Justin Timberlake”, but he could also exceed Timberlake’s charms with his unique brand of nu-disco.
