Track of the Day: Get The Fuck Outta Dodge – Buzzkill
The consequence of Ren Dodge’s ambition to learn the drums, form a band and release an album before hitting 40, Get The Fuck Outta Dodge is a high-powered punk rock duo from Def Leppard land. Formed in 2019 (when Ren was 39), James (bass) and Ren (drums) got together to share their hyped-up breed of punk rock.
Only three months after forming, Ren and James released Get The Fuck Outta Dodge’s debut album Climbing Higher, Hitting Harder Than King Kong via the Laundrette Recording Company. In September 2020, the lads released We Make The Future Here EP; however, it is Buzzkill that we are looking at today.
Buzzkill is an eleven-track album featuring pounding drums, dynamic riffs and singalong lyrics. The first track ‘Buzzkill’ is not only pounding, but hits you in the face with the force of a cannon. The powerful vocals meld well with strong instrumentation making it an attention-grabbing single. Right from the first minute to the abrupt end – it’s only a minute long – ‘Buzzkill’ is a frenzied, chaotic and outrageously addictive slap to the cheek and arrow through the heart…in the best way possible.
