Track of the Day: Conrad Ashton – Celebrate Life
It’s amazing how certain events in our lives change the course of them forever; catalysts, I think they are called. Conrad Ashton‘s life changed when he witnessed Pete Townshend perform at Life 8. From that moment, nine-year-old Conrad knew he was fated to make music.
Ashton began writing original songs early in life, and we’re talking pre-pubescent early, but as he aged the music turned into a catharsis for this young singer-songwriter. Helping to deal with mental health challenges, he used music as a means of self-expression infusing his material with raw honesty and sincerity. The latest addition to his discography is ‘Celebrate Life’.
A follow-up to the well-received EP No Post On Sunday, ‘Celebrate Life’ is one of Ashton’s most buoyant and optimistic songs to date. From the first second, you are transported to a lively, spirited and energetic whirlpool of sound. The blending of fiery instrumentation and upbeat vocals makes for a truly dynamic song. Thing is, while ‘Celebrate Life’ might make your head spin, the genuineness of the lyrics make it quite a sincere and heartfelt track pushing people to make the best of their situation.
I’ll let you in on a secret. When I hit the play button for ‘Celebrate Life’, I honestly had no idea what to say about it…it was all about feeling. The intense passion of the single left me grinning from ear to ear long after it ended. Trust me, you will definitely want to celebrate life after ‘Celebrate Life’!
“The message of the track is clear to Celebrate the good things in your life and be thankful for the life given to you and to make the most of it and be the best you can be!” – Conrad Aston on ‘Celebrate Life’
