Track of the Day: Cold Culprits – My Sweetest Friend
Formed in 2018, Cold Culprits, aka Andy Watson, is an indie-rock artist from North Yorkshire, England. Influenced by Iggy Pop, The Clash and The Ramones, it’s clear Watson has a hard-hitting sound. The latest addition to his well-received repertoire is the single ‘My Sweetest Friend’ (released on February 26th).
The track starts with a great drum beat, strong bassline and gentle guitar riffs with the vocals kicking in soon after. Watson sounds like he’s feeling a bit down and feeling like he just wants time to pass. He feels like there are too many memories weighing him down and likes to think about the things to come in the future. You can feel the angst and pain in his voice. The song has a very soft rock sound and relaxing feel with heartfelt lyrics and a catchy chorus.
