The Other Side Reviewstrack of the day

Track of the Day: Bvrden – Moonlight (2023)

Inspired by the complexity of life in its entirety, rock duo Bvrden uses their natural storytelling abilities to explore the feelings, joys and adversities of everyday life. Formed three years ago in Rome, the now UK-based pair blend the best of indie-rock, alternative rock and pop-rock in their melodies. Already keen fans of Bvrden, The Other Side Reviews are part of that loyal following the lads are garnering and we are not the only ones singing their praises. Featured on It’s All Indie, Indie Top 39, and Rock ‘n Bold, the band reaches audiences across the globe. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Moonlight’.

The first release since their track ‘Lies’ in 2021, ‘Moonlight’ is a hard-hitting single with bold instrumentation, profound lyricism and a tender melody. Produced at their home studio in the UK, then mixed and mastered by producer Andrea Fusini, ‘Moonlight’ hits you between the eyes with its intriguing arrangement. A whirl of drums matches dynamic guitars with such force that it is difficult to believe Bvrden is a duo, not a trio or more.

Drawing you in with the alternative rock tune, Bvrden ensnares your senses wrapping you with a kaleidoscopic sonic blanket. Yet, while you feel warm and cosy in the blanket, a melancholic, thought-provoking seriousness slips in through the cracks. It is this combination of rich melodies with poignant lyricism that shows Bvrden’s depth and innovation as artists.

As I mentioned, Bvrden are inspired by the complexity of life and ‘Moonlight’ is an insightful track exploring the effects of solitude on individuals. While there is a vulnerability found in the song, ‘Moonlight’ is actually a positive single with a sense of enlightenment. It appears the warm, cosy blanket represents spending time alone, realising and accepting that solitude can be inspirational and positive.
