Track of the Day: BRIDGES – More Than Before

Combining their poetic lyricism with an anthemic sound, BRIDGES is more than just an alternative rock band. The Somerset-based quintet has been described as “a soaring emotional beast that melts your heart” by Tap The Feed, and “alternative indie gems which are full of raw, heartfelt expression” by GigSlutz. So, do we agree with this (and many more) positive commentary? Hell yeah, we do! Only three years after their formation BRIDGES have several singles and a couple of EPs under their belt. Not only that, but they have performed at prestigious festivals like Glastonbury and Isle of Wight. In March 2020, they released the tender track ‘More Than Before’.

Introspective and insightful, ‘More Than Before’ is BRIDGES third track off their upcoming second EP. Ethan, Josh, Henry, Farkas and Chess show their ability to combine delicate vocals with dynamic instrumentation. The effortless way these lads (and a lady) perform shows a natural talent and passion for music. I’d never heard of BRIDGES before this, but I now can’t imagine my life without them.

“A few years ago I was hit by a heavy heartbreak. I thought I’d lost the world, everyone tells you you’ll get better; it’s hard to see it in the moment. It took a little patience, though I’m very lucky to have found something more after finding myself again. This song rounds off our EP following the theme of everything can be better.’ – Ethan (vocalist) on ‘More Than Before’
