Tommy Snow – I’m Tired Too (2024)

In his Spotify bio, singer-songwriter Tommy Snow “makes music sometimes”, in my opinion, he should be making music all the time. A newbie to the pop music scene, UK-based Snow can be considered a minnow in a pool of sharks; however, there is something intriguing and delightful about this minnow keeping you invested in his well-being. From his 2023 single ‘Collagen Peptides’ to 2024’s ‘Starve Yourself’, this artist weaves raw honesty with moving melodies offering songs to make you smile but also sigh with despair. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘I’m Tired Too’.

Following ‘Introvert’ and ‘Starve Yourself’, Snow shifts from indie-folk stylings with psychedelic sheens to wistful floods of dream-pop in ‘I’m Tired Too’. Self-recorded and produced, the single is a charming concoction of synths, drums, guitars and keyboards but with eclectic obscurity in the mix.

As with his previous songs, ‘I’m Tired Too’ is an immersive experience, this time placing you in a sonic tunnel preparing to head into Snow’s Wonderland. Soothing and laidback, shining lights whip about you like grinning fairies in multi-coloured robes. Warm, dreamy and comfortable, the single gives you that fuzzy feeling before you melt into a wonderful deep sleep but Snow adds a hint of discomfort like The Cheshire Cat coming to mess things up in the marvellous sonic swirl.

The melody is intriguing and to be noted as something sublime, but Snow takes it up a notch with the profound lyricism. Lost like a distant voice whispering from the back of your head, his vocals are subdued and ethereal; however, the poignant melancholy oozes forth. Snow explains, “the lyrics for the song are about an upset married couple struggling with the husband’s addiction and how it affects their relationship…”

In its intricate composition, there is a happy joy but also a strangling chokehold as ‘I’m Tired Too’ combines tragedy and hope in a single melody. Sincere, sentimental and intoxicating, one questions whether this is a pleasant stroll or a chilling rushed walk through his Wonderland.

In addition to the single, Snow released an official music video for ‘I’m Tired Too’. You can view the video below or on his YouTube channel. Please note that this video uses effects that can trigger migraines and/or seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
