The Kyle Jordan Project – Loved By You (2024)

A testament to his unwavering passion for music, The Kyle Jordan Project is a one-man show from production to A&R to songwriting and multi-instrumentalism. Led by the talented Kyle Jordan, he elegantly weaves together diverse genres bringing folk, blues, country, Americana and rock tapestry to audiences. Then again, he might be the forerunner of The Kyle Jordan Project but a passion for collaboration shines through with a collaborative spirit at the core of this project. A musical collective of international artists, each track has various influences and styles making the sound inimitable. Join me as we delve into the debut single ‘Loved By You’.

Shaped by an array of influences, Jordan’s music has been compared to artists like Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin. ‘Loved By You’ captures the heart of 1970s blues-rock with an instant reminiscence to Eric Clapton from the outset. One of those songs that are felt instead of merely heard, ‘Loved By You’ grabs your heart with the prominent guitar; however, while there is a strong grab of the lead guitar, the pounding drums and bold bass hold your hands and lead you along a comfortable path.

For me, the melody already hints at a moving single, but the vocals bind everything in a soul-stirring wrapper. An interplay between Greg Van Kerkhof and Katie Burke, the narrative acts as a conversation embodying the raw storytelling of The Kyle Jordan Project. Yet, just as it is a conversation to enjoy from a third-party perspective (despite the melancholy content), the warm, rich tones draw you in wrapping your spirit with charming elegance.

‘Loved By You’ has a comfortable quality but is a poignant tribute to broken hearts, mistakes, and reflective regrets. In other words, you love the tune and will have it on repeat but its delicate exploration of human fragility has you tear up.

In addition to the single, Kyle Jordan released an official music video for ‘Loved By You’. You can view the video below or on his YouTube channel.
