The Infinity Process – Dystopia (2022)
The dynamic and devastatingly divine music project from US-based trio Kimberley Tingley (vocals), Jason Tingley (guitar and bass) and Brent Gfell (drums), The Infinity Process is a blast of awesomeness. From Toledo, Ohio, the band has been described as having “an identity that screams dark, edgy and strong…” (Sinusoidal Music). Along with Sinusoidal Music, The Infinity Process have featured on notable blogs like Edgar Allan Poets and various playlists.
Performing for almost 10 years, The Infinity Process is reputed as a hard-hitting brand of melodic rock. Influenced by acts like The Deftones, Thrice and Muse, there is definitely an intriguing twist to their sound – which is distinctive and completely The Infinity Process. Following their track ‘Losing Reality’, the band adopt a high-powered, dark and intriguing sound in ‘Dystopia’ that hits you in the chest; however, just as the lads seem to swirl about you with a darkness, Tingley’s vocals lift you up with the soothing beauty.
Bold and confident with a headbanging quality, ‘Dystopia’ is an almost frantic track with melodic metal/hard rock inclinations. Interestingly enough, while you can become lost in this chaotic song, the chaos seems to fit within a controlled bubble of sound – organised chaos if you will. This is intriguing as it seems to fit so well with the song’s concept – dystopia and escapism.

The depth and innovativeness of The Infinity Process are undeniable, both in the compositional and lyrical context. Sending tingles down your spine and leaving you breathless, The Infinity Process captivate me once again with their beautiful music.
