The Decrees – Run (2022)

Formed in early 2016, Scottish indie-rock group The Decrees brought a raw, authentic and provocative sound to the masses. Known for their energetic performances, the foursome began building a following in the UK music scene, but not just on a live basis. Following their debut four-track EP, Screams from Suburbia, they introduced themselves to audiences across the globe as sensational recording artists as well as outstanding performers. Featured on Edgar Allan Poets, Headbangers News, Hive Radio UK, Belter Radio and various playlists, The Decrees are turning heads all around. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Run’.

Known for expressing everyday experiences bringing the monotony of modern life into a diverse musical burst, The Decrees have an intense intimacy in their music. Following their line-up change in 2019, the group began “breaking new barriers in the landscape of their sound”. Innovative, eclectic and intriguing, they began blending indie-rock with new wave undertones. In ‘Run’, the group pushes their boundaries even further with an indie-rock style interwoven in an indie-pop meets new wave sonic tapestry – all the time retaining a rawness in their music.

Bringing a kaleidoscopic layer to the dystopian-inspired soundscape, ‘Run’ has a hazy ambience leaving you to navigate a surreal song with haunting rawness. Innovative and edgy, the track drops you into a sonic mist with bright colourful lights flitting before your face. The chilling vocals combine well with the melodic arrangement of guitars and synths making for a well-textured song.
