The Buckleys – Oops I Love You (2022)

With their latest single ‘Oops I Love You’, The Buckleys are cementing their command of feel-good vibes and upbeat melodies. Bringing their alt-country roots to some indie-pop sensibilities, the band has created a super catchy single that is a blast of fun to listen to. Playful, joyous and fun-loving, the single will chase away any negative emotions lurking in your soul and replace them with bright happiness.

The single came to life as a bassline during a jam session, before taking on a life of its own. The family trio is made up of siblings Sarah (vocals), Lachlan (guitars) and Moll Buckley (keyboards). After making a splash in the Australian music scene, the band started an international campaign with their acclaimed album Daydream.

The guitar line that opens ‘Oops I Love You’ is captivating from the first note and yanks you into the single. The bassline that was the start of the single thrums through you with a bopping energy. There is a wonderfully bright energy woven into the melody that shines through each of the notes. You can feel the playful energy of the single tickling the edges of your senses and calling for you to join in the good vibes. It is a rather sunny single that is all bright happiness and fun, that makes you think of endless sunny skies and having fun with friends or loved ones. Later in the track, the guitar riff tumbles through your senses before leading you to a shimmering wash of sound.

While the melody undeniably catches you in the band’s net, it is the vocals that add the finishing touch to your capture. Sarah’s vocals are bright, fun and joyous as her performance dances through the light of the melody. She grabs your hand and pulls you into the sunshine of the single and you don’t want to let go. The lyrics have a fun story of falling in love woven into them that leaves shining colours in their wake. Her performance brings a heavy hit of pop to the track that just puts you in a good mood, whether you want to be or not. Not long into the single, you are going to be seriously considering turning the volume up to further soak up the good vibes.

The Buckleys packed joyful, feel-good energy into playful vocals and catchy melodics in the fun and extremely enjoyable single ‘Oops I Love You’. From the first note, the single pulls you into sunny movements that lift your spirits. The vocals are seriously playful as they hook you to the infectious sound of the band.
