Tasha Blackmore – Confessions By Candlelight (2023)

From Edgar Allan Poets to Indie Music Center, Roadie Music, Less Than 1000 Followers, Good Music Radio and BBC Introducing North East, singer-songwriter Tasha Blackmore is one of the more intriguing up-and-comers to date. Described as having a signature sound reinventing the modern country meets pop style, Blackmore is certainly making a mark on the music scene. From Northumberland to Nashville, heads are turning, and senses are being ensnared by Blackmore on a global scale.

Inspired by humanity in its entirety, the talented songstress explores life experiences, the emotional toll it takes, and coping with these conflicting feelings. Making her melodies even more intimate, her personal narrative lays her stories bare connecting with audiences on a vulnerable, deep and profound level. A self-confessed “emotional junkie”, Blackmore shares that she writes “…music that is inspired by personal experiences and feelings. I try to translate them into honest lyrics that resonate with listeners: songs that they can relate to and apply to their own lives”; hence, we have ‘Confessions By Candlelight’.

Following her well-received single ‘Brown Eyes’, Blackmore bursts into 2023 with ‘Confessions By Candlelight’. Adopting a soft, soothing and tender tone in the new single, Tasha Blackmore shows a gentler side to her sound. Similar to ‘Brown Eyes’, there is a vulnerability evident in the song; however, diversity can be heard with ‘Confessions By Candlelight’ as it slows the pace to wrap you in a breathtakingly beautiful embrace. Interestingly enough, while a warm richness can be heard and felt in the new single, a fragile sensitivity is woven into the arrangement making your eyes shine while breaking your heart.

A love song, ‘Confessions By Candlelight’ sets soaring guitars atop a steady drumbeat with sprinkles of piano to create a moody but memorable ballad. Jumping from melancholy to hopefulness and empowerment to pain, Blackmore paints a complex tapestry of love in the 21st century.
