TaniA Kyllikki – I Struck Gold With You (2024)
Forging ahead as one-woman wonder, singer-songwriter TaniA Kyllikki tackles the music industry with astounding enthusiasm. From composition and lyricism to production and release; from music videos to PR duties even taking her own press shots – she does everything a full team would do, and she does it with style. Over the past few years, she has been featured on international publications and radio stations, charted on Amazon’s Top Hot 100 Pop Albums, and her single ‘Remind Me’ was presented by Grammy award-winning Ne-Yo. Come with us as we delve into her critically acclaimed discography.
Raised in an abusive family and born with health conditions, one might consider Kyllikki to feel angry and vengeful or filled with inner turmoil and self-doubt; not TaniA Kyllikki. While she continues to deal with unstable health, her music (and existence really) is a testament to resilience, strength, empowerment and belief in goodness. Following her single ‘In These Eyes’, ‘I Struck Gold With You’ focuses on love and all the good stuff instead of dripping with contempt. Kyllikki explains:
“A beautiful hymn to love’s fortitude, ‘I Struck Gold With You’… envelopes listeners in an embrace of authenticity and tenderness… This composition is full of emotion making it perfect for romantic moments… it honours love’s timeless quality making this song a guiding light for those seeking a story of unfaltering devotion to the experience of love.”
The younger sister of Alicia Keys, Kyllikki’s ‘I Struck Gold With You’ blends soulful RnB with hints of pop woven through the piano-driven tune. Drawing you into a sonic whirlwind, her piano wraps about you with enchanting sound; however, while there is a simplistic element to the track its individuality is kaleidoscopic. A rollercoaster ride you move from the scary peaks to rushing lows with breath-taking elegance. One aspect I find extremely interesting is how a harmonic union of contemporary RnB springs forth in Kyllikki’s vocals while the use of strings alongside the piano brings a classical edge.
In addition to the single, TaniA Kyllikki released an official music video for ‘I Struck Gold With You’. You can view the video below or via her YouTube channel.
