Take Flight are touching on a number of topics with their highly anticipated single ‘A Modern Allegory of the Cave’. Exploring being in an echo chamber of your own making, the band pulls on threads of social media algorithms and the human psyche. With a dash of some fear of the unknown, they weave a hard-hitting single that has you contemplating the world and how you interact with it.

Through the opening soundscape, you can breathe easily and give into the reflective feeling of the song. The softness of the track is thrown to the side when the chorus hits with a thrust of rock sensibilities. As the music pushes against you, it sends you soaring into the wonderful guitar riffs. Through the opening vocals, the band touches on Plato’s Cave and bring a modern twist to it. When the melody blasts on the chorus, the vocals rise to match. There is a belting wash of emotion through the vocals as they hit the message home. As the song progresses, there is a layering of vocals with smooth rock tones and screaming aggression. This all builds up for a heavy-hitting song that you really need to listen to the lyrics of.
