Supersaurus – Fool For You (2025)
Are you looking for a new favourite band? If you’re into the “indie-pop sad-pop bangers”, then you’ll probably find peace with Supersaurus. A non-binary fronted girl band, the UK-based four-some has been turning heads since 2022, both in the UK and beyond. With an aim to connect with audiences offering listeners solace in moving melodies, Supersaurus is inspired by humanity in all its tragedy and triumph. The latest addition to their critically acclaimed discography is the single, ‘Fool For You’.
Perfect for Valentine’s Day, ‘Fool For You’ is the “…epic 90s romcom soundtrack to your inner main character…” Think Music and Lyrics meets Love Actually with a bit of Notting Hill in the mix, and you have your romcom-laden film ready for a theme song. Self-recorded and produced, the independent band are not exactly a band to place in a specific genre. Drawing together different flavours of pop and rock, with a synthy 80s sound meeting contemporary indie-pop, Supersaurus is eclectic, diverse, and intriguing.
Following the well-received 2024 single ‘Down’, ‘Fool For You’ melodically captures the core theme of love. In the swirl of pulsating drums, bold bass and soaring guitars, you are easily lost in a kaleidoscopic haze of smile-inducing bliss. Knowing this is a song about romance, the lyrics are infectious and light-hearted, but also intimate and “oh, that is so sweet!” Telling us about a girl whose smile lights up the room with a face that makes the flowers bloom – oh, c’mon, how can you not find that utterly, entirely, stupidly romantic?
Sugary sweet and a perfect tune for any romcom film with Hugh Grant, ‘Fool For You’ oozes sincerity, tranquil joy, and heart-warming tenderness. I don’t know about you, but my Valentine’s Day became a little brighter after listening to Supersaurus’ new single.
