The Drunk Astronomer – Every Body (2022)
The solo project of UK-based singer-songwriter Nathan Fox, The Drunk Astronomer lies somewhere between Bob Dylan and Pet Shop Boys. This is my introduction to The Drunk Astronomer, but he is already turning heads on an international scale with coverage from Teco Apple and Heatwave (to name a few). Come with us as we explore his debut single ‘Every Body’.
After signing with London-based micro-label, Melodica Records, Fox took a break from the music industry and trained as a physiotherapist – a career switch that changed his life and inspired his debut single, ‘Every Body’.

Influenced by the likes of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Flaming Lips and the Beach Boys, The Drunk Astronomer has a light-hearted, jangle-pop sentiment executed in a hazy dream-pop swirl of sound. Add the intensity and heartfelt intimacy of Bob Dylan and you have The Drunk Astronomer. Interestingly enough, while an old-school folk-pop sound is evident in ‘Every Day’, a contemporary dream-pop style brings a distinct edginess.
Layering bold synths with warm vocals and a soothing guitar, ‘Every Body’ sets listeners off on a fluffy sonic cloud completely unaware of anything other than the smooth tones. Recorded and produced at Church Lane Studios with producer Matt Davison and engineer Ade Barwick, ‘Every Body’ is a chilled, laidback tune that you can listen to at any time night or day. It simply lifts you out of your body, sends your soul soaring and makes everything seem that much better.
