Sis PS – Why Not (It’s Christmas) (2023)
Christmas – a time for family, friends, indulgence and really cringe-worthy, terribly fantastic Christmas songs. In an uncertain world where despair, pain, anger and hate are rife, it’s always lovely to know that a happier side of things can be seen during this holiday season. German singer-songwriter Sis PS takes this concept, rides with it and shares her inspiring single ‘Why Not (It’s Christmas)’. This is our introduction to Sis PS, so join us as we jump into her well-received discography.
For as long as Sis PS can remember, music has flowed through her veins breaking through with her magical musicality. Originally, her style began with rock playing in various rock bands; however, she now approaches various genres forming an eclectic, diverse sound. In her previous single ‘A Fresh Beginning’ she tapped into folk-pop with an underlining of electronic pop; however, ‘Why Not (It’s Christmas)’ leans further into commercial pop.
Self-recorded and produced, ‘Why Not (It’s Christmas)’ combines a rush of synths and keyboards with a bold drum bobbing in a cheesy holiday groove – you know, that snowy, sledging, chestnut roasting, happy and jolly twinkle of Christmas. Sis PS’s rich vocals meld into this warm vibe adding a heartfelt snuggle to the track; however, just as it is comforting an air of youthful innocence lurks beneath.
For Sis PS, music is life, and she constantly tries to capture the core of human emotion in her melodies. She aims to connect with audiences intimately, resonate relatability and stretch out a friendly hand telling us we aren’t alone in whatever situation we find ourselves. ‘Why Not (It’s Christmas)’ transports you to a mystical world of fairy lights, massive grins and hugs so you can enjoy the holiday season wherever you are. From the lips of Sis PS, “forget this messed up world for a while and let yourself be infected by the spirit of Christmas”.
In addition to the single, Sis PS released an official lyric video for ‘Why Not (It’s Christmas)’. You can view the video below or via her YouTube channel.
