Seamus Fox – Road of Life (2021)
Lying somewhere between Ed Sheeran, James Bay and Lewis Capaldi, US-based singer-songwriter Seamus Fox can soothe your soul with his addictive sound. A relatively new artist on the scene, Fox has only one single to his name – ‘Road of Life’; however, this doesn’t mean he isn’t making waves with his music. While most of his focus was on playing at venues across New England, he has made his way onto the blogosphere featuring in Pop Fad Blog, Performers on the Go and Roadie Music. I am extremely pleased to introduce you to Seamus Fox with his debut single ‘Road of Life’.
Influenced by the likes of John Mayer and Ed Sheeran, it is no surprise that Fox’s music has a soft, flowing feel to the melody. Largely a piano-driven track, ‘Road of Life’ has an acoustic appeal highlighting the beauty of simplistic arrangements. I am a sucker for piano ballads, but it is not only the piano that drew me in and made me fall in love with Seamus Fox. Elegantly and expertly layering instrumentation along with his soft vocals, there is another dimension to this intimate soundscape.
Described as a “combination of pop and indie with an ambient vibe”, ‘Road of Life’ tosses you into a sonic swirl of sound wrapped in a gossamer web of haunting intensity. Touching on the concept of calm and restfulness, Fox uses poetic lyricism to empower a person to overcome any challenges in their lives. It is positive, optimistic and endearing aligning with the old saying that we should take time to smell the roses. In the everyday rat race running ahead at full speed, it can be difficult to take time to smell those roses, but Fox helps us chill a little with his languid tune.
What I love about Seamus Fox’s music is how tender it is. His dulcet tones ooze sentimentality and sincerity as you feel the genuineness behind his words. Life seems to come to a halt when listening to his song and helps you feel utterly at ease…. all you need is a cup of tea to round things off. I honestly believe Seamus Fox is set for success and would love to see him live. I can’t wait for more of his work.
