SAVE US – Drift (2023)

Inspired by life in its entirety and the essence of human experience, SAVE US release a unique brand of alternative rock and metal. Formed in 2023, the foursome is already making waves in the music industry across the globe. With coverage from Insane Blog, Rock Is Fest, Rock Freaks, Gig Radar, The Independent Music Insider, as well as airtime on BBC Radio, Amazing Radio, Total Rock, Kerrang, Amazon Music, Forever Loud and many more, the cross-continental group use emotionally charged melodies to not only entrance listeners but save them from the grittier side of life. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Drift’.

If AFI had a child with 30 Seconds To Mars and it was raised by Avenged Sevenfold, the chances are it would be SAVE US – and this is clearly heard in the new single ‘Drift’. Following critically acclaimed singles ‘Nightmare’, ‘Distance’ and ‘New Light’, SAVE US adopt a hard-hitting fusion of metal and hard rock set to blow your mind from the first moment.

Pounding drums hit you in the face with scorching guitars wrapping about you in the sonic hurricane. Caught in a frenzied rage, you aren’t sure where to look or how to break free – all you know is your mind is lost in the chaos. Strangely enough, while the darkness seeps into your soul, the melody veils warm vocals that grasp at your fingers. Intense madness sliced by a silvery voice enhances the yearning, angst and vulnerability but with a slip of hopefulness.

This is my introduction to SAVE US and I was not prepared. Larger than life, bold and brash, biting and ferocious, but with a sense of clam lurking in the background, ‘Drift’ is a mesmerising few minutes of sound. With their debut EP Lucid just around the corner, I am eager to hear more from SAVE US.

In addition to the single, SAVE US released an official music video for ‘Drift’. You can view it below or via YouTube. Please note that this video uses lighting effects that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
