Sasha Hromyk – Dance (2022)
Sasha Hromyk has had us intrigued with his mix of neo-soul and RnB since he contemplated fear in ‘All the Right Ways’, before moving to the modern twists of his EP R L G L. Now, he is adding a touch of dance to his smooth and soulful sound with the aptly titled single ‘Dance’. Bringing a dancing pop bounce to his usual flair of contemporary soul and RnB, he has you bopping to the beat while swaying to his vocal moves.
Forming his own specialisation in the art of vocal dynamics, Hromyk has the ability to perfectly blend different sounds. From the vocal gymnastics of his multi-lingual EP to the emotive tugs of his first release, he has been flexing his musical muscles and people are taking note. With this track, he adds a new dimension to his already multi-faceted sound and has us eager to hear where he goes next.
‘Dance’ pulses through the opening with a movement that is the perfect balance of dance and RnB. There is something smooth to the pulse that enhances the movement that makes you want to bop to it. It is almost impossible to not bounce as you hear the melody. The initial pulse of tones continues into the body of the track, gaining a shimmering upper layer. While you aren’t going to dance like crazy to this track, the dance vibes in the low levels easily have you moving around to the sound. There is something rather addictive to the melody that gets your muscles swaying and shimmying to the rhythm.
While the melody gets you bopping away to its rhythm, Hromyk’s vocals hover with a hum before sliding across the floor and into your side. There is an intimate feeling to his performance and you can almost feel the caress of his fingers in your hair through the lyrics. The chorus is packed with modern RnB vibes as he calls you to dance with him like you are the only people in the world. There is a feeling of instant connection woven into the vocals, but this is the smoothest and most silken whirlpool you will be pulled into. There is a great flow to his performance that is as addictive as the smooth movement of the melody. The spoken word section of the track is a wonderful addition that breaks things up and leads you into the last moments of the single.
Sasha Hromyk has you shimmying to the smooth bounce of his dance and RnB mix, while falling into an indulgent emotional whirlpool in ‘Dance’. The melody is a perfect mixture of dance, pop and slick RnB that has you gently moving to the rhythm. Hromyk’s vocals bring an intimate feeling to the track as he draws you close and fills you with the soft emotions he infuses into each word.
