Rooftop Screamers – My Sanity (2025)
With a reputation for emotionally charged music, powerful performances, and just being that bolt of lightning running down your back when you hear the intoxicating melodies, Rooftop Screamers is something else entirely. When I say something else, I mean something inimitable, indefinable, and brimming with unconventional intrigue. Founded by singer-songwriter Mike Collins, the musical collective that is Rooftop Screamers continues to explore the murky world of unfiltered genres emerging with a sound that is distinctive in its indistinctiveness – does that make sense? The latest addition to Rooftop Screamers’ discography is the single, ‘My Sanity’.
Joined by singer-songwriter Randy McStine, ‘My Sanity’ offers various slicks of rock leaning toward old-school classic rock, indie-rock and pips of alternative rock. A strong nod to yesteryear, one can easily place ‘My Sanity’ alongside acts like Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi – all gruff, gritty and raw, but with a soothing calm lingering in the melody.
While Collins and McStine weave a web of soaring guitars, bold drums, and rugged vocals, renowned producer Mark Plati sprinkles his magical fairy dust across the melody adding sophistication, elegance and maturity. Yet, as much as it is sophisticated, his magical fingers weave a hit of tragic vulnerability and human fragility to ‘My Sanity’.
As beautiful as the symphony is, it is the vocals and poetic lyricism that up the ante of ‘My Sanity’. Rugged but beautiful; confident but vulnerable; tainted but pure; McStine’s voice breathes life into the story of complex human relationships.
“I wanted this song to reflect the moment when you realise the truth and find the strength to walk away. The feelings of doubt, confusion, and emotional strain that come with being gaslit are universal, and I hope this song can offer a sense of empowerment for those who may be in similar situations.” – Mike Collins on ‘My Sanity’
In addition to the single, Rooftop Screamers released an official music video for ‘My Sanity’. You can view the video below or on his YouTube channel.
