Robots In Love – Unbreakable (2024)
Eclectic is a word to describe Robots In Love, but their eclecticism reaches further than the experimental music. From a vocalist who has performed on a boat in Poland, atop a mountain in Japan and a warehouse in Brooklyn to a bassist who has played some of the biggest festivals like Lollapalooza, and a drummer who recently supported The Chemical Brothers, Robots In Love is a force of nature. Blending diverse styles and influences, Elenor Rayner (vocals), Brett Lemmon (guitar), Tony Lumsden (bass) and Alex Burchell (drums) ooze obscurity and eclecticism from every pore as Robots In Love.
With two experienced producers in the band, Rayner and Burchell, each Robots In Love song undergoes a streamlined production with a sophisticated outcome; however, it also means there are numerous remixes as Raynor produces the original track, then Burchell makes a remix, then Raynor makes a remix with new vocals, and Burchell makes a remix twice the speed and filled with drums… The new single ‘Unbreakable’ has its remixes, as does the preceding ‘Alien Love’, but let’s stick with the original for now.
Following ‘Alien Love’, ‘Unbreakable’ brings a heavier, harder, pounding flush of hard rock to our ears. If you can imagine being tossed into a whirlpool of deadly darkness thrown from side to side, then this is pretty close to ‘Unbreakable’. Like a punch to the chest, each pounding drumbeat, each bold bassline, and each scorching guitar riff leaves you breathless. Yet, while the melody is terrifying engulfing you in a pool of gloom with Rayner’s vocals rattling about your brain, a light of hopefulness slices through toppling the tune from fearful to empowering with fist-pumping enthusiasm. Robots In Love explains:
“’Unbreakable’ is about how we feel when we walk out on stage. It’s about finding the place where you are at your strongest and joining with others to build that strength…”
Sincere, powerful and filled with a badass attitude, Robots In Love captures the determination, endurance, strength and resilience of the human spirit in ‘Unbreakable’.
In addition to the single, Robots In Love released a music video for ‘Unbreakable’. You can view the video below or on their YouTube channel. Please note that this video uses lighting effects that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
