Robbie Rapids – Love Of Your Life (2022)

Blurring the lines between old-school rock to commercial pop, singer-songwriter Robbie Rapids has been rocking around the block since his days as a guitarist in a high school jazz band. He may have begun young and in jazz-rock mode, but Robbie Rapids soon established his name because of his soulful vocals and musical taste. Most well known for leading a Tom Petty tribute band, Rapids can capture an audience and hold them in the palm of his hand; however, it’s not just live shows that have him ensnaring people’s senses. His studio recordings have him described as “…enticing…” (Rock Era Magazine), “…evocative and romantic…” (Senocular Media), and “…overwhelming” (Music For All). The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Love of Your Life’.

Following his single ‘Jasmine Girl’, US-based Robbie Rapids adopts an upbeat and high-paced tone in ‘Love Of Your Life’. While this track does have a “poppier” vibe capturing a pop-rock tinge in the melody, Rapids retains the signature soft rock quality we have come to adore – particularly evident in the bold guitar riffs woven through the moving lyricism. Yet, it is not only the guitar that captures your attention. Add the pounding drums with Rapids’ rich vocals and you have an attention-grabbing single.

Known for his rock undertones, Rapids’ music is evidence of his 80s classic rock influence; however, ‘Love Of Your Life’ treads on a separate path from his previous material. A nostalgic flair shines through the melody dragging you back to the dance floors of the 80s. The thing is, while the throwback has you dancing about with crazy hair and bold mascara, the profound sentiment behind ‘Love Of Your Life’ is timeless. It is this timeless relatability that really connects with international audiences.

“This is my first pop-rock song. It is about returning to a dance club for a second date with a woman believed to be the love of my life…” – Robbie Rapids on ‘Love Of Your Life’
