Riserfall – Claim The Kingdom (2023)
Inspired by the likes of Metallica, Soundgarden and TOOL, Irish metal band Riserfall are “the perfect storm” of the 90s grunge experience backed with a modern-day innovation of rock and metal. Edgy and hard-hitting in their swirl of sound, Riserfall might be new to our ears but are already turning heads across and beyond their native Ireland. From Post Burnout to Nutshell, Irish Music Rights Organisation and The Beat, Dan (vocals and guitar), another Dan (lead guitar), Ciarin (bass), and Neel (drums and percussion) capture our hearts with a bold rock flair. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Claim The Kingdom’.
Following their 2022 single ‘Dogma’, ‘Claim The Kingdom’ kicks off with scorching guitar riffs and smoothly glides into the full band belting out a fantastic fusion of dynamic guitars, booming basslines and fantastic drum technique. Add Dan’s infectious vocals and you have a very addictive sound, if I do say so myself. According to Spotify, Riserfall only began releasing music in 2020 but each member holds their own with previous rock experience. In ‘Claim The Kingdom’ you can hear all of the band’s inspirations, influences and experiences coming to the fore.
Described as being “similar to the likes of Metallica…” Riserfall hopes to make a lasting impression with ‘Drift’ with bigger, better things on the horizon. Following a year and 11 months of incredible music, gigs and awesome-ness, I imagine Riserfall has much more to offer in the future. We wait in anticipation.
