Rise in Veins – Unsaid (2021)

The energy of rock and classic metal have been merged by Rise in Veins for their single ‘Unsaid’. As the single touches on trust and betrayal, it links arms with the current global situation. Through this expansive situation, the band fills you with the most intimate feelings. A great dichotomy of expression, the single offers something for rock and metal fans alike.

While the band members have all been involved in rock acts through the years, they only met in 2019. Stephane Aube (vocals, guitar), Francois Lefebvre (guitars), Stephane Lefebvre (bass) and Luke Middleton (drums) started jamming together after meeting at a party and soon the band started to form. Blending their main musical influences, they have produced a fusion of sound that has become their own.

‘Unsaid’ hits you with the energy of the band from the first crashing guitar tone. The guitars and drums combine for a pulsing line that gets your head moving. In the background, there is a guitar soaring to its own beat while still keeping with the flow of the main melody. There is a real classic rock feeling to the music but you can hear a touch of metal resting in the pulse of energy. Through the music, you ride an expansive feeling that encompasses everything happening in the world.

This expansive feeling is reigned in by the vocals. Stephane Aube’s vocals carry the classic rock tones through from the melody into the lyrics with his smooth timbre. There are moments when his performance soars out with the guitar only to touch down for a more intimate thread. You can get hooked to his voice because it is so easy to listen to. The easiness of his vocals makes it very easy to get into the lyrics that track trust and the bite of betrayal. This is enhanced by the harmonisations.

Rise in Veins have your bouncing to their energy with their fusion of metal and classic rock while getting lost in the vocals on ‘Unsaid’. Aube’s voice draws you into the track with an effortless flow while the guitars and drums pound against you. They come together for an engaging single that takes you through feelings of trust and betrayal.
