Quietlove – The Dream (2021)

Self-doubt is something that most of us have faced at some point or will face in the future. Often, this comes when we lose sight of why we started something and get lost in an overwhelming process. With his single ‘The Dream’, Quietlove helps you work through these feelings in an organic manner. Acting as a breath of fresh air, the single will have you looking at situations with fresh eyes.

This consideration of self-doubt comes from Brendan DiStefano, the man behind the moniker who has been passionate about music since a young age. His passion led to him catching the attention of Slaight Music and signing his first publishing agreement at 17. Since then, he has performed at venues across North America and now fronts a pop trio while working on his solo music.

DiStefano’s vocals open ‘The Dream’ with a tender flow that is rather captivating. His soft vocals grab your attention and pull you into the song. His performance picks up slightly as the song progresses only to fall back into the tender flow on the chorus. Through the lyrics, he opens up about losing sight of what is important. This is done in a relatable way that touches on his own experiences while being universal enough for anyone to connect with. There is a light questioning at times where he wonders if he has taken the right path.

Beneath his vocals, the melody starts with a gently pulsing line. There is a dawn feeling to the opening of the melody that smoothly slides into paced beats. On the chorus, there is a soaring vibe to the music as light breaks from behind the clouds of confusion and lost feelings. While the melody is moving and keeps you rolling down the track, the vocals are really the most important element. They shine against the movement of the music.

Quietlove helps you work through feeling lost while soaring on his gentle vocals in ‘The Dream’. The vocals are the star of the single as they tenderly pull you in only to open your eyes to the situation you find yourself in. The melody is a solid foundation under the vocals that roll you into their movement.
