Patty Duffey – Love Across The Aisle (2023)

Inspired by the intricacies of life and love, Patty Duffey shares songs to explore the highs and lows of relationships – mostly the joyful highs. The CEO of Performers On The Go, LLC and Young Performers Club, Duffey is a well-known name in the music industry; however, it is her original releases that tap at the intimate core of her soul. The debut single ‘There’ received critical acclaim from various music publications, received airtime on radio stations and has been added to a plethora of playlists. She hits us once again with her sophomore single ‘Love Across The Aisle’.

While ‘There’ touched on the extreme power of friendship and “how best friends can help get you through anything and everything and are forever present through thick and thin…”, Duffey turns toward romance in ‘Love Across The Aisle’. In collaboration with singer-songwriter Maximilian Wentz, producer Brad Young, and vocalist Alexa Cabral, Duffey captures the serendipity, intimacy and hopefulness of a true love story in this single.

A tale of two souls coming together in the most unlikely manner, ‘Love Across The Aisle’ begins with the unexpected meeting of Bridget and Jack on a flight to Boston during a Father’s Day weekend. It continues with Jack finding the courage to ask for Bridget’s number, heads down the road of a four-year relationship and culminates in the exchanging of vows at 7 Dog Ranch. It’s a journey of enchantment and something you’d expect in a romance film if I’m completely honest.

To capture the heartfelt tenderness, happiness and overwhelming sense of joy, ‘Love Across The Aisle’ is an acoustic-inspired fusion of soft rock and folk-pop. With a simplistic melody, Duffey carries you along the adventure with soft, smooth instrumentation. Interestingly enough, while the arrangement is a flowing, laidback blend of harmonies; there is a poignant profoundness lingering in the hypnotic tune. For me, it comes to light with Alexa Cabral’s obscure vocals that hug you in a warm embrace but simultaneously add vulnerability.

A song of exquisiteness, you feel soothed by the music and inspired by the moving lyricism. It seems that Patty Duffey has discovered the anthem for serendipitous, unpredictable love.
