PAGES. – So Wrong So Right (2022)

Influenced by the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood and The Killers, the charismatic Scottish trio PAGES. bring together indie-rock with tinges of synth-pop and pop-rock. Based across Scotland in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, the trio nods to the sounds of the 80s but inserts a contemporary edginess in their music. Featured on The Punk Head, Gas Mask Magazine, Roadie Music, Find No Enemy and various playlists, PAGES. is reaching audiences on an international scale. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘So Wrong So Right’.

Following their well-received single ‘Snow’, Matt Fraser (vocals, guitars and keys), Alistair McKinlay (guitars) and Jack Lovie (drums) release the bold hit ‘So Wrong So Right’. Hard-hitting and energetic, PAGES blows you out of the water from the get-go. Heavy guitars meld with pounding drums giving off a mild distortion in ‘So Wrong So Right’. Interestingly enough, the distortion appears to be interwoven in the kaleidoscopic soundscape. Brash, rough and gritty but with a simultaneous smoothness in the flowing rock melody.

Bringing the sounds of classic rock and 80s synth-rock to modern-day audiences, the lads showcase their depth and innovation as artists. Recorded by Joseph Schmidt (who happens to be based in the USA), ‘So Wrong So Right’ has an intriguing throwback vibe but retains a modern-day groove in the mix. Sincere, sentimental and tender, but with a palpable grunge resting on the melody, ‘So Wrong So Right’ is another work of art from PAGES.
