Noshows – Tired Eyes (2023)

Initially a solo project by US-based singer-songwriter Max Satow, Noshows traipses various genres to create a sound that is by no means average or imitable. As of 2022, Satow is joined by a full band allowing Noshows to reach a new level of enthusiasm in their music. Known for engaging, powerful and energetic performances, the NYC group are attracting attention from notable live venues such as Bowery Electric and Arlene’s Grocery. Along with their intriguing performances, Noshows is also turning heads in the blogosphere receiving coverage from New Noise Magazine, Existential Magazine, Loudhacker, News Break, and many more. In fact, they were described by Music Arena GH as “…a band like no other…”

Following their single ‘Can’t Stop Me’, Noshows begins 2023 with the single ‘Tired Eyes’. While a signature hard-hitting rock-inspired style resonates in ‘Tired Eyes’, the band demonstrate eclecticism in all of their tracks with each having a diverse, kaleidoscopic sound. Seriously, it is impossible to fully place Noshows into a genre because, well, everything they release shows another facet of their musicality. When it comes to ‘Tired Eyes’, the group traverses indie-pop, synth-pop, pop-rock and indie-rock with a psychedelic wistfulness slathered atop the melody.

Drawing on personal experiences and universal communication, Noshows songwriting approach is driven by the principle that “understanding ourselves is the first step towards understanding others” – as such, the lyrical themes of tracks explore “the intricacies of the conscious mind to bring people together in a shared understanding through music”. For me, the obscurity and eclecticism of ‘Tired Eyes’ elegantly express the confusion of our minds with a frantic melody. Distorted, discomforting and wild, ‘Tired Eyes’ takes you to the madness within but with a sense of organised chaos.
