Nick Cody and the Heartache ft Towse – She’s Tough Enough (2022)
Nick Cody and the Heartache had us grooving to their blended sound with the aptly titled ‘You Gotta Move’. They have now joined forces with Towse for their second collaborative release ‘She’s Tough Enough’. This follow-up to their last collaboration brings their musical dynamic to another level and wraps it around some wonderful lyrics.
Together with Michael Ross (guitar) and other musicians from across the world, the collaborative duo sweeps you up into their sound with some captivating chemistry. The single balances the ensemble style of Cody with the atmospheric prowess of Towse. Drawing out the best elements of their musicality, they fuse together for a wash of poetic lyricism and rather epic melodics.
‘She’s Tough Enough’ rolls into your ears with a drumline that gets you bopping gently to the tone. The guitars wash over it for an easy flow that rests over the drum with an earthy touch. There is a steady pace to the music that fills your senses with an Americana sound that makes you think of sunny days sitting on the porch with a friend or loved one. The guitar line that soars through the soundscape later in the track is wonderful in its folk-rock flow.
