nasmore – When Will I Learn (2022)

Known for his ever-evolving style, Canada-based musician and producer nasmore is a bit of an enigma. With his music soaring across the blogosphere over the past two years, nasmore has been featured in Find No Enemy, PaKo Music Magazine and numerous playlists. Using powerful dynamics and arrangements, the talented artist brings listeners a sense of serenity wrapped in atmospheric tones. The latest addition to his well-received discography is the track ‘When Will I Learn’.

Appearing several times on The Other Side Reviews, we have become acquainted with nasmore’s unique sound. Collaborating with notable artists on tracks like ‘Say Goodbye’, ‘Safe In My Dreams’ and ‘Adrenaline Storm’, nasmore once again works with the iconic Cris Hodges and Neil Taylor in ‘When Will I Learn’. Adopting a hard rock style reminiscent of 90s alternative rock bands (particularly in the guitar solo), but with a contemporary edginess, there is a powerful hard-hitting sense to the single. Tossing you about a sonic whirlpool, the single has an evocative grittiness, and you can feel the passion behind the melodic instrumentation.

While ‘When Will I Learn’ can capture your heart with its melody, it is the emotional connection with audiences that shows true depth. Hodges’ rich, bold vocals intoxicate you with hard-hitting passion. Interestingly, while the track layers fierce guitars and pounding drums into a kaleidoscopic soundscape, it also exudes vulnerability. Touching on issues like loss, regret and remorse, nasmore creates a tune that is not only relatable but intensely intimate. I can easily see this track being played live at a festival with the entire crowd singing along.
