nasmore – Little Monster (2024)

Known for his bold eclectic style, singer-songwriter nasmore is a dynamic force in the music industry. Traipsing from alternative pop to gothic rock to electropop and cinematic avant-garde, the Canadian artist is not to be pigeon-holed. It is nearly impossible to define nasmore, what we do know is he is a trailblazer with his enigmatic sound. Yet, just as his melodies are kaleidoscopic with mind-blowing awe, the songs show vulnerability and rawness within sophisticated production. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Little Monster’.

Entering 2024 with his single ‘Eyes That Knew Too Much’, nasmore shows an evolution in his already obscure sound. From pounding guitars and thrashing vocals in 2023’s ‘Masters of Damnation’ and ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?’, ‘Eyes That Knew Too Much’ has a subtle gentleness working in a symphonic harmony with hints of crashing rock beneath classical serenity. Take another step into 2024 and nasmore shifts to a gothic blend of alternative rock, hard rock and dark pop in ‘Little Monster’.

Inspired by life in its totality and eager to experiment with various sounds, nasmore expresses the grittier bad and hopeful optimism of human emotions. ‘Little Monster’ delves into a tale of inner conflict, demons and tragedy but with an empowering lift. Oscillating from dark to light with rollercoaster speed, ‘Little Monster’ showcases diversity in tone and theme. nasmore explains:

“This track isn’t just a song; it’s a fusion of pop with elements of industrial metal and modern tango – a symphony of genres that echoes with every listener’s heartbeat. ‘Little Monster’ weaves a narrative of inner conflict and freedom through hauntingly beautiful lyrics and melody…”

Taking us on this musical Argentine tango, nasmore collaborates with singer Ariana Celaeno. An off-kilter, obscure vocal performance, Celaeno brings decadent sensuality to the sonic dance tiptoeing through the melody. As she kicks her heel, nasmore takes a stand; as she lifts her head with a sexy smile, nasmore twirls her about with confidence. Step here, hold there, gaze with intensity creating palpable tension only eased by the harmonic swirl of instruments and vocals.
