nasmore (ft. Cris Hodges and Beaux) – Adrenaline Storm (2022)
From his debut release ‘NDDP Fire Theme’ to ‘Adrenaline Storm’, Canada-based nasmore is sharing a unique, obscure and intriguing sound with the masses. It is extremely difficult to define nasmore’s music with his fusion of classical, hard rock, EDM, indie-rock and some others make it clear this artist is not to be pigeon-holed. Featured on Sinusoidal Music, Tinnitist, Edgar Allan Poets, Punk Rocker, Roadie Music and various playlists, nasmore is turning heads on a global scale. The latest addition to his well-received discography is ‘Adrenaline Storm’.
Collaborating once again with singer Cris Hodges and rapper Beaux, ‘Adrenaline Storm’ transitions from hip-hop to alternative rock and hard rock effortlessly. Opening with a simplistic piano, you would assume this to be a soft ballad, however, you could not be further from the truth. Along with the acoustic piano are dynamic guitars and pounding drums incorporating an electronic heaviness with soothing classical instrumentation. I find this particularly enjoyable as I can get my rock fix along with melodic metal and some softer piano undertones.
The melody is definitely noteworthy, but it is the lyrical content and arrangement that highlights the evocative nature of ‘Adrenaline Storm’. Touching on the turbulent emotions people experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic, ‘Adrenaline Storm’ explores frustration, isolation, anger and turmoil. The up and down melodic effect makes the emotions palpable within the kaleidoscopic soundscape. Moreover, the bold vocals of Hodges merge with the hip-hop style of Beaux adding to the heart-pounding ambience. It’s easy to become lost in this diverse song and lose yourself in its multi-coloured sonic tapestry, if music had colour of course.
Sophisticated, anthemic and hypnotic, ‘Adrenaline Storm’ slithers in your ears, reverberates in your brain and sends chills down your spine.
