My Alibi – Keep Me On Delivered (2025)

Formed about five years ago by Australia-based twins, Will and Charles Smith, My Alibi is the musical embodiment of raw passion and natural talent. The fiery embers of music sparked early on as they grew up around music; however, it was only in 2020 that the Ballarat natives fused their skills as the two-piece My Alibi. Inspired by the likes of Ed Sheeran and Dean Lewis, the pair craft moving melodies executed through powerful, confident performances around Melbourne. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Keep Me On Delivered’.

Following their 2024 debut single, ‘Mess With Me’, Will and Charles retain a contemporary pop sound in ‘Keep Me On Delivered’; yet there is a lingering old-school indie-pop charm peeking from the track. The younger brother of Ed Sheeran, with his best friend being Bruno Mars, My Alibi’s ‘Keep Me On Delivered’ brims with and oozes tender sincerity. The smooth entwining of Will’s drums and Charles’ guitar carries listeners on a sonic river with serene ripples across the water; then again, vulnerability rears its head in the sophisticated production.

Inspired by life in its entirety, the light-hearted, toe-tapping, sing-along and have-a-giggle tracks are not what they seem. Dunking your head below the surface of the glittering sonic river, you find tumultuous swirls twirling with kaleidoscopic intensity.

Exploring the age-old complexities of relationships – love, loss and lamentation – ‘Keep Me On Delivered’ uses the technological aspect of modern-day reality in their charming pop tune. Resonating deeply with audiences, ‘Keep Me On Delivered’ captures the “…thrill of an online conversation that sparks vivid dreams of shared futures, only to be left in suspense when the replies stop coming…”

Lyrically, My Alibi’s music connects with listeners on a personal level offering understanding; the melody brings a sense of solace to these intimate narratives. For me, however, it is not the lyrics or the instrumentation that ups the ante on the track. In my opinion, it is Charles’ vocals that take you on the journey with bold confidence, but simultaneously a tragic, poignant and profound fragility.
