Musician of the Month: Damned If I Don’t

Based in Hong Kong, Damned If I Don’t is an alternative rock band that embraces diversity in today’s society. One of the band’s unique elements is that each member hails from a different continent, contributing to the DIID language of music. The drummer Jon Kin is Hong Kong-born and was taught by legendary drummers, such as Thomas Lang, Dom Famularo and Chris Brien. Bassist Simon Whitmore specialised in bass guitar when studying contemporary popular music at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Surrey, England. Veo is an active session guitarist from Hong Kong, and to complete the line-up is South African-born guitarist and vocalist, Daniel Stacy Gerber.

Known for their emotionally charged and relatable tracks, Damned If I Don’t are currently writing new material for a much-anticipated second album. This will be a follow-on from the debut album Self-Titled. Self-Titled was recorded and self-produced by Daniel Stacey per the band’s DIY ethic.
