Muca & La Marquise – October Blues (2020)

The brainchild of London-based music producer and songwriter Muca, Muca & La Marquise is a soothing and intriguing soul duo. Muca and his muse settled in London falling in love with the culture and lifestyle of the UK’s contemporary capital city. In fact, they expressed their adoration of London in the debut single ‘London’ – an upbeat, summer-infused jangly-pop single. Since then, they have released three singles and received coverage on Essentially Pop, HomeCooking Share, Listen To Discover and Vally FM 98.5 (to name but a few). The latest addition to their growing discography is ‘October Blues’.

Following the well-received single ‘Blue Moon Bossa’, ‘October Blues’ adopts a more soulful sound as compared to the upbeat ‘Blue Moon Bossa’. The third single from Muca and his muse, ‘October Blues’ is a tender, emotive track encapsulating different styles. The Norah Jones meets Joan Baez vocals accompanied by an Eric Clapton-esque guitar makes the track soothing but with a bit of a kick.

Staying true to the original blues sound, Muca & La Marquise provide a tribute to yesteryear with an edgy 21st-century twist. Haunting vocals infused with skilled instrumentation makes ‘October Blues’ engaging, passionate and entertaining. At first glance, you might think it difficult to stay attentive for a full five minutes, but this track will make five minutes seem like one second – you’ll want it to go on and on…
