Miron – Too Deep (2023)

Renowned for his poetic lyricism, captivating sound and mesmerising journey through contemporary and old-school styles, singer-songwriter Miron is a unique gem in a pool of sonic pebbles. Debuting as an artist in local Parisian theatres, the Paris-based musician built a confident stage presence which is carried over to his music. This is my introduction to Miron, but he is already turning heads across the globe with features on Less Than 1000 Followers, Mystic Sons, Roadie Music and Music For All – to name but a few. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Too Deep’.

Entering the new year with ‘Too Deep’, Miron once again shows another facet of his musicality. Unlike previous tracks ‘With Your Eyes’ and ‘Plague’, Miron adopts a soft rock approach moving from his pop and harder rock sounds. The intimate darkness of murder ballad master Nick Cave slithers through ‘Too Deep’; however, the vocal execution leans more toward 90s alternative rock. Breath-taking with a tinge of melancholy, his rich voice tugs at your heartstrings sending you into a mire of despair but embracing you with warmth.

The simplistic combination of Miron’s unique vocals and rhythmic guitar enhances a sense of intense vulnerability. Interestingly, while it has a hazy simplicity about it, ‘Too Deep’ is kaleidoscopic in the evoked emotions. Ethereal and intense, there is a heaviness to the track – not necessarily a hard rock heaviness but the heaviness of a colourful sonic blanket wrapping around you leaving you gasping for breath.

“My latest single ‘Too Deep’ is a soft nostalgic love song…it is an authentic and passionate reflection of my own journey as an artist.” – Miron on ‘Too Deep’

Soft and soothing but with a vivid melancholic fragility, singer-songwriter Miron is definitely one to watch. I have but one complaint: even at over three minutes long, ‘Too Deep’ is still far too short.
