Max Edwards – Malibu (2022)

Known for his passionate dedication to music, Canadian singer-songwriter Max Edwards has been creating and performing songs since childhood – and he hasn’t looked back. Listening to artists like Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5 in his younger years, Edwards built a love for pop and RnB; however, his interest in the industry sees him experimenting with various genres. Along with his engaging performances, Edwards has been featured on notable blogs like Sinusoidal Music building a loyal following. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Malibu’.

Hot on the heels of his single ‘For Another’, Max Edwards adopts a soft, soothing sound in a contemporary pop style. Reminiscent of most modern-day commercial pop songs, there is a toe-tapping, head-bopping lilt to the melodic arrangement. Yet, while a reminiscence to Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake can be heard, Edwards’ vocal execution seems to have a signature warmth to it. Weaving elegantly in with the bopping tune, ‘Malibu’ is a kaleidoscopic tapestry of a song with Edwards’s dulcet tones being the shimmering silver thread.

The third single off his upcoming EP NotMySpeed, ‘Malibu’ was penned almost a year ago and is an evolution of Edwards’ sound. Edwards shares that the song was written “…when I was experimenting with some different styles/genres and I always really liked the vibe of it. It took me a while to get it to where I wanted but I finally feel it is ready to go out into the world! I’m excited for people to hear a different style from me.”

Sincere, sentimental and sophisticated, ‘Malibu’ sends your soul soaring and sticks in your brain for hours to come.
