Matyascorvinus – Tree of Life (2022)
Matyascorvinus asked us to take some time for ourselves with ‘In Solitude’ by providing the perfect atmosphere to do so. He is now turning his captivating instrumental style into deeper symbolism with his single ‘Tree of Life’. While the tree of life often represents growth, strength and beauty, ancient beliefs saw it as the centre of the universe, with the sky as the canopy and the roots as the underworld.
Matyascorvinus offers a different interpretation of this symbol through the instrumental sounds of his music. Drawing on the unrest of the world, he considers how trees can symbolise life in general and shine as a beacon, even in the worst of times. The first section of the track is like an awakening that is packed with light feelings of life and growth. The music reaches out from a central point and draws your attention to the beauty of what is being created. Through all of this, is a youthful feeling that matures as the single progresses, much like our own understanding of life and our place in the world.
Halfway through the single, the music loses some of the glow of youth and offers a deeper and more mature sound. While the sheen of youthful innocence seems to drop, there is an earthiness that replaces it, offering a steadfast feeling and an understanding of strength.
