Marc Gallagher – I’m So Glad You’re Still Here (2022)
Manchester-based singer-songwriter and ukulele player Marc Gallagher has released his next single ‘I’m So Glad You’re Still Here’. Born and raised in Nantwich, Cheshire, Marc started his musical development with local open mic nights and gigs. Writing songs about experiences he’s been through Marc stated “I had wanted to write this song for a while but hadn’t quite known how to approach such a tender subiect.”. He added, “This song acts as a letter to my younger self, being released in the month I turn 26. It’s what I wish I heard then and what I hope people who need it can hear now.”
The track kicks off with the gentle sound of ukulele riffs, Marc’s vocals kick in and the song just lights up. He sings about the struggles of feeling depressed and talks about telling yourself to just remember how much you’re loved and you are not alone in feeling this way. You’re worth so much and the darkness will pass, you will see joy in your life again. it’s a very heartfelt and beautiful song that reminds the listener that you matter.
