Major Moment – The Flood (2020)

Andrey Borzykin (vocals, synth), Sasha Razumova (vocals, keys), Eddie Thurmon (lead guitar) and Daniel Interrante (rhythm guitar) came together to form the true modern alternative rock band Major Moment. Together they have developed a kinetic and diverse sound through multi-layered melodies and melodic vocals. Their newest single ‘The Flood’ continues their captivating performance.

The song was inspired by the French proverb Après nous, le deluge which translates to ‘After us, the flood’. This is important because it signifies that after those in power leave, there is no concern for everyone left behind. While this song started out as a way to work through the band’s issues, the bigger scope soon came into view. This transformed the song into an anthem about supporting each other despite our differences.

‘The Flood’ catches your attention with the epic opening. There are light notes that lead to an expansive melody and driving synth beat. There are wavering tones matching the driving guitars and moving drums. The melody really hooks you and does not let you go as it draws you into the track. The music has this build up in it that makes it explosive and anthemic.

While the melody grabs you, the vocals soar through you and take you on a journey. The chorus makes you want to sing along and adds to the anthemic feeling of the track. Lyrically, the song makes you think about life and how we support each other. There is a message of strength that leaves you feeling like you can do anything. The choral harmonies in the song will leave you covered in goosebumps and wanting more.

Major Moment uses their explosive new anthem ‘The Flood’ to deliver a message of strength and unity. The song combines epic vocal performances with a soaring melody that cuts through you and leaves you feeling stronger.
