Luna Marble – Redemption (2024)

Many rock sub-genres come and fall into the background or simply wither away. Others, like shoegaze or grunge, for example, (rightfully) simply refuse to go away. Usually, the key for the artists choosing to work with such music is that they adapt, include elements from other genres or sub-genres and make their music fresh and interesting. This is the case with Manchester’s relatively fresh band Luna Marble and their latest single ‘Redemption’.

Formed back in 2020, Luna Marble seems to like what some might call ‘older’ sounds, something that falls within the classic rock category. Now that is quite a wide playground, and Luna Marble seems to like to use both the width and breath it offers – everything with a harder sounding edge – something that includes some loud, ringing guitars (courtesy of their guitarist Dragoș Colceriu), yet without neglecting the key elements of both melody and rhythm.

On ‘Redemption’, a song that is serving as an introduction to their upcoming album (later in 2024), they go full tilt as far as all of the above elements are concerned Led Zeppelin style rock with flashes of grunge (think Soundgarden) with a melody that Fleetwood Mac would think of. A strong, fun song that stands on its own and is a solid introduction for the forthcoming album at the same time.

In addition to the single, Luna Marble released a music video for ‘Redemption’. You can view the video below or on their YouTube channel. Please note that this video uses lighting effects that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
