Luna Keller – Home In My Heart (2023)

Having moved to Spain as an infant, German-born Luna Keller was raised between two vastly different cultures. What kept her sane? Well, the fact that many people experience this, travelling between the countries and having a passion for music. It all began when her parents took her to concerts as a child, would play the guitar and sing lullabies, and eventually, she found a love for songwriting. Since those early days, Luna Keller has turned music into her life’s pursuit. From her debut single ‘Sunset’ in 2017 to 2020’s ‘Prophecy’, 2022’s ‘Wanderer’ and the most recent release ‘Home In My Heart’, Keller has enchanted international audiences with her honest, raw and intimate melodies.

One unique thing about singer-songwriter Luna Keller is her status as a travelling musician. Like hippies before her, Keller is rarely in one place long building connections, garnering a following, and creating songs along the way. ‘Home In My Heart’ is a tribute to these connections and experiences. It’s about long-distance friendships and the emotional intimacy and joy of having those relationships. The song was penned after speaking with her Switzerland-based friend Catarina as they explored and discussed long-distance friendships.

“’Home In My Heart’ was born from my gratitude for the friends like Catarina that I get to share my journey with. I didn’t have many friends in school and travelling with my music I feel like I have found my people scattered all over the world. This song is for them, I love them with all of my heart.” – Luna Keller on ‘Home In My Heart’

Recorded across countries, the foundation of ‘Home In My Heart’ began in Spain with her father Roger Keller. From there, it travelled to Germany to previous collaborator Wolf Simon who played the drums. Finally, ‘Home In My Heart’ made it to North California where Dominic Romano finished off its production.

Following her singles ‘The Philosopher’ and ‘Woman in the Van’, ‘Home In My Heart’ brings old-school folk to 2023. Adopting her signature folk style, the single has a top-tapping acoustic beauty with simplistic guitars and drums belying Keller’s soothing vocals. Interestingly, while the mellifluous vocals weave into the track with a gentle, comforting ease, there is a sense of haunting. So, in other words, you feel comforted and happy when listening to the song but also have some goosebumps spreading down your arms.

A tribute to friendships near and far, ‘Home In My Heart’ is sincere, sentimental and shines a light on friendships that will never end.
